Conference photography is an essential aspect of capturing the essence and energy of corporate events. Recently, I had the opportunity to photograph the Huawei “Open Roads To A Better Connected World” Pre-MWC Analyst and Media Briefing 2015 at The Dorchester in London. This event brought together analysts and journalists from around the world to discuss the latest 4.5G technologies ahead of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
The event took place in the grand ballroom and various business meeting rooms throughout The Dorchester, providing ample space for presentations, networking, and business discussions. As the largest telecommunications company in the world, Huawei chose one of the most prestigious hotels in the world for their briefing, adding to the exclusivity and importance of the event.
One of the unique challenges of this event was the sheer size and scope of the venue. With multiple areas to cover, including the main ballroom, business suites for Q&As, and a penthouse suite for private meetings with the CEO, it was crucial to capture the dynamic and engaging atmosphere of the conference. As the sole photographer for the event, I had to navigate through the various spaces and activities to ensure that every important moment was captured.
Additionally, the last-minute nature of the brief added an extra layer of complexity to the photography process. With just an hour before the event started, I had to quickly familiarize myself with the schedule, locations, and key individuals to focus on. Despite the challenges, I was well-prepared to adapt to the fast-paced nature of event photography and deliver high-quality images that showcased the excitement and energy of the conference.
In the fast-paced world of event photography, being able to think on your feet and adapt to changing circumstances is essential. With the right equipment and mindset, capturing the essence of a business conference like the Huawei briefing at The Dorchester becomes not just a job, but a creative challenge that pushes the boundaries of conference photography .
